I just finished this amazingly written book, and want to thank Christina Lauren for her creativity and her storytelling genius! After hearing so many rave reviews about it, I decided to try it out myself--and I wasn't disappointed. Not only is the setup of the plot interesting, but the conflict gets more and more twisted as you read on. And obviously the romance was on par because it was an enemies to lovers and a slowburn, what more could you ask for? With a tropical setting, hilarious banter, and a mysterious ending, the book had me in it's grips from start to end. Lauren emphasized the importance of communication through the conflict resolution of her main characters, which was both interesting and admirable seeing as though there were many, MANY, conflicts to be resolved. Oh! Not to mention the fake dating trope with lots of jealousy. What really got me, though, was the depth portrayed by the main character struggling (like most of us readers) with the weight of family expectations. It left me grateful for what I have, and hopeful for what's to come.
Recommendation
This book was a doozy, but I love it just because of that. In every sense, it was fun from beginning to end. With more than just romance, the book charmed me and proved itself as a must-read. I'm telling you, you do not want to miss this!
